WHAT'S SO GREAT ABOUT GATSBY

1. In my opinion, Gatsby is not a Horrible human being like “Tom” but he was an interesting character. He lived in the past, trying to impress and get back what he and Daisy had a long time ago. Witch cased His death.

2. I think the writer opens the story by saying that the main character "Nick" is honest because, throughout the story, people are fake, violent, Dumb and the writer want it to be seen by nick so you can truly feel how the other people in this story are presented. I really don't know how to answer the question(Is Nick honest with himself.) I think Nick hangs around people who are dishonest because he probably wants to know why they are dishonest. He makes relationships because  Just because they are dishonest they are doesn't mean they are bad people

3.When Fitzgerald said that Tom and Daisy are careless people. I agree with him because Tom just goes around getting drink not caring about other peoples well being or like he is cheating on his wife Dasiy and not caring. And Daisy is just missing some brain cells because she thinks that just because she is beautiful she is just a dumb fool and Can think for herself.

4. I somewhat understand Dasiy's behavior. But the choices she makes you question if he okay in the head. If I have a choice to let mt brother let date daisy I would because since she is rich she can buy us stuff.


5. I really don't know what the last line means but ill give it a shot. Even though you try to go forwards you will end up going back in the past.

BEHIND THE IGNITE TALKS

Today in class I had to do a Ignite Talk. And to break down an ignite talk it's just a 30-second speech about your big question. And the promos of this is to get people to get curious and care about what you have to say. All I have to say is Lightwork :)But the person who inspired me about my topic was Famous Rapper Ice Cube.

DARK PATTERNS

Dark patterns are tactics used by Amazon,eBay, etc to make customers more tempted to buy something. I have been knowing about this. The reason I know about this is because I use amazon and eBay my self to buy products for my fish tanks or just to look around. And I always see the timer counting down letting me I have 10 minutes to buy this product. And if I don't buy it I Just lose the best offer of my life. Dark patterns yea I don't fall for their tricks.

The different's between naturalist,realism,and modernism is Naturalist is when there's a storm or something in a story and the character cant do anything about it,Realism is keeping it real with someone and Modernism is to brake the rules to make a new or discovers a new rule.

My learning fall and rise

When I came back from school on August 12, I was happy with all my classes but then I saw English. Growing up I never liked English class because the teachers did not care about your learning all they cared about was you turning in your work and that's it. My thinking, reading, spelling, and memorizing skills weren't the best, So when I walked into these classes I didn't have high hopes. But when you stood up and started talking about yourself and then walking out so the whole class can decide if we want a normal boarding English class or if we wanted to try out this thing called open-source learning. And that was an interesting experience because it was the first day of school and the class didn't know each other that well.

  Getting introduced to Journals, a blog of your own, memorizing poetry, post video proof that you memorized the poetry was really different for me. The journals were new to me because I never had a notebook just to write about a topic that gave us. And I like it because the journal topics are not easy but too hard. And they require you to think long and hard. And that's something that helped me in this class. Having your own blog where you can post your own thinking, your response to topics we are discussing, and post about how your day was, was new to me too.it was new to me because in every class I have we use the internet just a little bit and we didn't explore all the possibilities that the internet has to offer. Memorizing is not a new thing because I do that every day but for a teacher to make you memorize poetry was a new concept for me. And then on top of that, you had to provide evidence (via video recording)to show you really did remember the poetry like Richard Cory or Laughing Heart. Richard Cory" Whenever  Richard Cory walked down the street we people on the pavement looked at him, he was a gentleman from sole to crown clean favored and imperially slim."I still remember parts of the poem. The story about Young GoodMen Brown was a story I really enjoyed. The reason I enjoyed the story was that in the story it talked about a Guy named young goodmen brown and his perception of the people he talks to and sees on a day to day basis was changed when he took a walk into the woods.

Things started to get intents around the time of the first progress report card because One I didn't have all the blog post and two I was falling behind in my journal. It was really stressful because this progress report card determined if I was going to keep playing water polo or if I was going to get dropped. I have realized that even though it was a stressful week but I didn't give up. I kept going. A quote I use when things getting hard is a quote from Snoop dog and it goes like this "You are going to lose more then you win in life. But are you going to stand up?'-Snoop Dog

My learning has improved like my thinking skills, my memorizing skills, and my writing skill. I have noticed that my overall thinking has been improved because of the journal topics and the essays and the stories we read. Another way the journal has helped me was with my writing skills. This helped me by challenging use to write a least half a page about the journal topic. And my memorizing skills has improved by you giving me different types of ways to memorize things. One way is by repeating the thing you want to remember, by listening to a number over and over or writing down the number that helps sometimes too.

Overall I like this class. For ones, I like my English class!!! I never thought that an English class can be fun and wanting to learn something new every day and for that I thank you :)

LET ME WALK YOU THROUGH THE PEDESTRIAN

If you have not  Read the short story (THE PEDESTRIAN)by Ray Bradbury let me tall you about it .This story takes place in a windy cold night where the main character Leonard Mead is walking on the sidewalk looking at the woods, peoples house, And the sky.And back in those days it was normal for people to sit outside of their house or porch and have a conversation in the night.But this night for Leonard was meet with something different.

Ray enjoyed walking at the nights to clear his mind, to see the night sky shine with bright stars, Feel the cold wind hit his skin and just to relax.In the Story Leonard talks about that he is the last of his kind.What does he mean by this?What he means is that back in a time where people did not have any computers, TVs, or a phone. People would go outside their house or walk and have a conversation at the night because that was a normal thing to do.But now people don’t do that anymore and he is the only one that still walks at night.

Leonard has been walk at night for many year with no problems.But this night was different.While He was minding his own business a police stoped him to question him.Of course Ray response to the the officer telling him that he is on a walk.Think he was just walking at night not doing nothing else that he will be let go and go on with his walk

But he found himself in the back of the police car. Getting taken away. And when get got home he wrote the story(the pedestrian).
