I had a school assignment and the assignment was for every student to remember a poem called "Richard Cory". And I used two strategies to remember the poem. The first strategy I used was to search up a video of someone reading Richard Cory and listening to that person read it over and over and over again so it would get stuck in my head and it did!!!!! But I still wanted to remember it word by word.So what I did was to write it don't a few time to see if i truly memorized the poem and I did. those are the methods I used to remember a something.
An explanation of how using one or more of the memorization strategies we discussed helped

How I Read
Growing up I really struggled with reading. I never liked reading, reading was boring because the teachers would make us read a boring ass book that no one wanted to read but we had to if we wanted to pass our test. And since I didn't like to reading I didn't develop those reading skills. What I can say is reading a book that you find fascinating and interesting will make you want to read a book. A example of a book I read and loved was called 'Ivan the silver back gorilla". And for the first time EVER I pictured the reading in my head I felt like I was there. Some books I prefer reading are touching, scary, and fascinating books those will make me want to read.
Getting To Know You
Getting to know someone is important because you don't know what some people go through on a day to day bases. Also never judge someone just because their shirt is dirty, wear the same outfit everyday, where they live etc because you don't know what they are going through. what if he/she is a really intelligent, creative, bright person but people that don't know what they are going through will just laugh at them and make them feel like dog Shit.
THE FIRST 50 PAGES
So I just read the first 50 Pages of this book called "Braking Through". And in the story it introduces us to panchito and his family that live in Santa Maria,California. Every day panchito and his family lived in fear of getting caught by ICE and get deported back to mexico. And one day while panchito was in El Camino Jr ICE came into his classroom to take him and then ICE went to Santa Maria High School to pick up his brother Roberto and then to his house to get the rest of his family. Then they get deported to mexico. But Panchito and his brother Roberto came back to the US and they were home alone for a few months while their parents got the right paper work so they can come back. While they are home alone they have to wake up early to go to work at the fields and pick carrots.before and after school they works so they can have food and sent money to their family back in mexico. Panchito worked at the fields and Roberto found a job as a janitor At Main Street School. In early April his mom and dad came come back from mexico. But they still have to work Everyday from Monday to Sunday. And that's a short summary of the first 50 Pages of the book I am reading.
FOR THE WIN
What I have done in this course is my Thinking skills have improved. The reason I say this is because the questions that are on the website require some deep thinking and if it’s not deep thinking it still requires some thinking to answer the journal topics .And when I look back at my journal from the first week of school to now I see improvement in my thinking and that makes me proud of myself.

HACK TO SCHOOL
I am personally not going to back to school night because I feel like its a elementary thing. But if I was going to go to back to school night I would bring my dad because he is not working right now and my mom is usually busy with work. The people that support me in my academic are the same people I known my whole and that's my family.

(READ TALK UNDERSTAND)
Today my teacher read a post that he wrote on his website and it was tilted(do. or do not.there is no essay). And in his post he talked about how in every class he asks the simple question" what words pop up in your head when you hear the word essay?" and the word that came up every time was stress, anger, crying and dropping out showing up in every class. And it's funny because students were open and glad to share out information that related to this topic. But if it was a normal boring English class and if the teacher asked how many pomes did Shakespeare write? I could bet that only one or two probably zero students would feel comfortable answering that question. While he keeps on reading a quote popped out to me and this is how it goes"Montaigne believed that we learn best when we love what we do. When we can choose how to direct our curiosity, our passion, and our effort."I find this so true because how many of us sat in a class that we hated an example is a math class. We sit there bored out of our minds because that class is just boring. Well I can say in elementary I hated math I didn't like it one bit. But one day I got a math teacher named Mr.Davis and he made math fun up to the point that I would actually love learning about math!!!! And I learned because the classroom was inviting, fun, creative everything every student wishes their class could be. And another point was when my English teacher was done reading he brought up the point that if an English teacher read this they would have been like your missing a Thesis, details, a conclusion, etc. But he didn't include those and we still understood what he was trying to tell us.

(I AINT GOT TIME FOR THIS)
My junior year is different from my other years of school. I don't have time to play videogames, hang out with friends, or go to bed when I get home anymore because I have a lot of stuff to do. This is my schedule from Monday all the way to Friday. I have to go to sleep really early like around 10:30 because I have a first period. I wake up at 6:40 so I get dressed, put everything back in my backpack, brush my teeth and get to school by 7:15. Then every day it's the same I go to all 7 of my classes nothing special there. Then after school, I go to water polo practice from 3:30-5:30. Then I get home to change into comfortable clothes and then I eat and then I start doing my homework. After I am done with my homework it's like around 9 and I got to the gym for an hour, come home to shower, and by then it's 10:15 and then I go to sleep.rinse and repeat.
(SO THIS GUY GOES FOR A WALK...)
So back then when people believed in witches and black cats being evil. People would just stay in their own village and they wouldn't explore the unknown. But one day a guy named Goodman brown went for a walk into the forest to meet up with a guy. When he meets this guy he tells goodmen brown that he knew his Great grandfather and his father and that he made them do some really sin full stuff. But goodman brown said that that's impossible because he would have known about what they did but then he thought about it and he was shocked. Then goodmen brown old catholic teacher screamed the DEVIL!!!! Then she started to talk to him and goodmen brown was shocked once again to see someone that was supposed to worship God and hate the devil now work for the devil. And he tells him that every one that is in power works for him. And that changes goodman browns perspective about who he looked up to when he was younger.
(The Earth On The Turtles Back)my impression
I just read The earth on the turtles back and this story is about how the earth began for the native Americans. In the story, it tells us how there was water for miles and miles and in the water there were birds and other animals swimming around. And there was another island and it was called the Skyland. In the Skyland there lived an ancient chief and his young wife. And one day the young wife had a dream about the great tree uprooted. So the ancient chief pulled the tree out from the ground and the young wife saw something down into the hole where the tree used to be. Then she fell down with some seeds in her hand. Then two bird used their wings to catch her. So after that, the animals decided to go down to get earth so the young lady can stand. One by one they went down into the water to get earth but none of the animals couldn't go down enough to get earth. But a tiny muskrat said, "I will bring earth or die trying." And the muskrat brought the earth up but didn't know where to put it. After he said that a turtle said to put it on his back so they did. After that, the birds put down the lady onto earth and she opened her hands to let the seeds all down to the bare ground and from there trees and grass began to spring up and life on earth began.
TODAY I WAS THINKING
Today I had a binder check for one of my classes and my teacher looked at my binder and what caught her eye was that I put my paper on the wrong side of the dividers. Instead of putting my papers behind the dividers who you "were supposed to put them"I put the papers in front of the dividers because that's the way I like to put my papers. But my teacher told me no because she wants the papers on the back of the dividers. I was disgusting with her why I decided to put my papers like that but she said no because that's not the right way to use dividers. So after class, I was thinking why doesn't she let me use my dividers how I want to use them? Is it because that's how she uses them so there for everyone has to use them like how she does? I don't know I even asked my dad about this and even he agreed that it was stupid. Some people man.

(Conscience of a Hacker)My Response
I just read (Conscience of a Hacker)and I must say it caught my attention. The reason it caught my attention is because this was written by a teenager and he was arrested for bank tampering. While reading this the young teen put some emotion while typing out his responds. What caught my attention was that he kept repeating the phrase “Damm kids they’re all are alike”This caught my attention because adults thinks that every teenager is the same they all are lazy they all moody they are all dumb they do nothing. He also says that school is boring because she had nothing that he like until he found a computer. To end this post I want to finish off with this quote from his response “You may stop this individual,
but you can't stop us all.. after all, we're all alike.”
